Hello Lifties:
Good news! You are going to be a lift operator, and November is right around the corner. We had our first snowfall of the season this week, unfortunately its not sticking just yet. We’re looking forward to a ton of snow this year, and a whole bunch of great skiing and riding!
Training Dates
So far we have set the first two training class dates! Training to run the lifts takes about 2 weeks of working 4 days per week, and you do get paid for training. I know a lot of you have decided which training class you would like to attend, but we’d like you to reconfirm with us again via email. There are two dates to pick from:
Monday, November 8th or
Monday, November 24th
We’re also planning on having at least one class in December, but we’re not sure when yet. Keep in mind when you’re picking that housing is first-come, first-serve. We also open for skiing and riding on the mountain November 19th.
Housing Information
We are still hard at work sorting out the final details of the Employee Housing program, but we need to know exactly who needs employee housing. Please respond to this email to let us know if you need housing. As of right now, employee housing will require a $250 deposit in order to reserve your spot. Rent will be $350 - $605 per month depending on your room. Most of the units are between $350-$400.
Fitness Program
Starting next week we’re going to be introducing a fitness program for everyone to follow. You need to be in shape to do your job efficiently and effectively, so get your spandex and headbands out and get ready! We’re also going to be having a fitness program contest so that you can win some sweet winter gear.
Fact of the Week
Vail Mountain averages 358 inches of snowfall per year. We had 360 inches last year. That is 30 feet of snow. Get ready to do some shoveling!
Some great skiing/snowboarding related websites:
Steep and Cheap - great website for deals on gear
Vail Daily (our local free newspaper)
We definitely need everyone to reply to the email we sent to you and let us know 2 things. Which training class would you like to attend, and are you interested in employee housing.
See you all soon!

Hey all,
ReplyDeleteFeel free to ask questions here if you have any. I'm sure someone else has the same question.

what all would you need to bring for your housing unit as far as bed size pans pots etc...
ReplyDeleteThe beds are all twin beds. Also there isn't any pots or pans or plates or towels or anything like that. But we do have a Walmart about 5 miles away in Avon. Usually you can get a couple things and then let your roomates get a couple things and you'll have everything you need.
